Faith is a gift that God gives freely, but this precious gift can be rejected by us and lost through our failure to nurture it and grow in it. Today’s Scriptures encourage us to persevere in faith until the end, remembering that God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. With the gift of faith, and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can do great things for God.
Lighting the Fire of Renewal
“The night is far gone. The day is near.”
The Lord is doing something new and beautiful in our midst: hearts are turning to Christ, families are learning to pray, and parishes are preparing for mission. In Year 3 of Pastoral Renewal, Bishop McGrattan calls us to kindle the fire of faith: to surrender our lives to Christ, strengthen family life, form missionary disciples, and become a Church of encounter and witness.
Every small act builds something greater. Together, let us respond to God’s call and light the fire of renewal in our homes, parishes, and communities!
