Comin' Alive Camp 2019 - To Mars and Beyond; Explore Where God's Power Can Take You!
We will be landing at Assumption Church on Tuesday, July 16 to Friday, July 19, 2019.
Come join us and EP3-20 to Go Beyond with Faith, Boldness, Kindness, Thankfulness, and Hope. Campers must be age six by December 31st of this year (entering Grade 1) up to entering Grade 7. Registration forms are available at the parish office.
Volunteer opportunities abound for both Youth in Grade 8 and up as well as many Adult positions, please contact Helen Manzara at 403-320-5726 for details.

Bursary for Arcatheos and Captivenia Summer Camp 2019
The bursary application process for Captivenia and Arcatheos is complete. In total there were 10 kids that applied and it was decided to give all of them the bursary. Applicants were asked to submit an essay, here are some of the responses.
Captivenia
“It has helped me discover what God’s love really means, and being able to help young girls discover why God made them is truly something amazing.”
“I absolutely love the amount of praying and worshipping that we get to do at Captivenia. It’s not often that you get to go to Mass every day, have Adoration, spend time in the Chapel, while doing this all with your friends. I always learn so much about my Faith and I'm able to apply the lessons and teachings in my own life.“
“There are so many women who are there for the same reason: to love and serve God.”
“Before I became a Bellesera at Captivenia, I had very low self-confidence and did not believe that I was worthy of love or that I was good enough. At Captivenia, I learned that God loves me and that He made me in His image and likeness. I learned that I am perfect in His eyes. The women there have given me so much support and love. It has shown me how God works in other people and how my struggles are all a part of His plan for me. I now know that these things are only temporary ‘And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved’(Acts 2:21).”
“Captivenia is without a doubt my favourite place in the world; it’s my home away from home.”
“Camp has helped me grow closer to God and Our Lady in so many ways I can’t describe… Now I want to help other girls feel that way as well.”
Arcatheos
“Arcatheos has helped me grow through brotherhood and it has helped me grow as a person.”
“It has taught me countless things about the outside world and about God. Being able to act towards the evil forces as brothers has taught me how to be brave, independent, courageous, and outgoing.”
“It’s cool how they mix medieval things (swords, cloaks, and evil enemies) with faith…and engage campers to learn faith-related lessons through activities.”
“This is the coolest camp any Catholic boy can go to. It is a camp where faith and fun both happen.”
“Another thing I enjoy about camp is that I get to go with my Dad. It is fun to be at camp with my Dad.”
“My favourite things are probably archery, sword fighting, jousting and the missions. I also like how it is based on faith in many ways, like how there’s church every day, reconciliation, and how they make it fun.”

“After I’m done camp, I always come home with something new that I learned at camp about my faith, and I LOVE the talks.”
“Camp has helped me grow in my faith because I feel like I am not just having information shoved at me and being expected to remember it all, but I am actually learning it.”
